Most days you’ll find me navigating a whirlwind of Zoom calls, pep talks, and iced coffee., but my journey wasn’t always this rewarding.
Not exactly what this feminist wanted to hear. I was sure that if I kept my head down and worked hard, someone would notice me and give me a chance to lead in the way I knew I could.
It didn’t take me long to figure out that that was never going to happen. Frustrated and questioning, I wondered why my contributions weren’t valued and if success required decades of waiting. I also noticed that I wasn’t the only one who felt like the battle was impossible to win.
Every single day, I saw so many other brilliant women leave the workplace for other opportunities because of those same reasons I was grappling with…feeling like they had to act like men to be taken seriously, a lack of development resources, and a lack of opportunity to prove their value.
Worst of all, I realized that every woman leaving the workforce was a missed chance for workplace change. C-Suite leaders paid a steep price as talented women departed, despite evidence linking more women in leadership to innovation, profits, and employee wellbeing.
This realization pushed me into entrepreneurship. I left my 9-5 to prevent other women from doing the same and embarked on a mission to empower women with the support and development I once lacked.
I started focusing on closing the talent development gap for women and empowering them to stay. Taking charge of my growth, I started to champion myself. I shed imposter syndrome, embraced my strengths, and became a bold leader despite never getting a formal invitation to the leadership table.
Today, I empower high-achieving women to follow my lead and align their values with action, effortlessly fostering personal fulfillment and professional success.
